AI Revolutionizes Audiovisual Creation & Marketing

At Bendita Filmes, we live and breathe the audiovisual market daily, and what we observe is an impressive acceleration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in content creation and distribution. Far from being a mere trend, AI has solidified its position as a strategic partner, reshaping everything from production backstages to how we engage audiences.

AI in Conception and Scriptwriting: Beyond Automation

One of the most heated debates revolves around AI's ability to 'tell stories.' Sources like No Film School, echoing renowned screenwriters, already point out that AI still grapples with human complexity and emotional nuances that define an engaging narrative. However, in practice, AI is proving to be an excellent 'writing assistant.' Tools like OpenAI's 'GPTs' are agents working in the background, receiving projects, analyzing interview transcripts to suggest clips, drafting social media posts, and even proposing text variations. Armed with these suggestions, professionals gain time to focus on the story's essence and moments of pure creativity, without getting bogged down in repetitive tasks.

The Trade-off: Amplified Creativity, Not Replacement

The common mistake is thinking AI will replace the creator. In our experience, AI acts as a magnifying glass for creativity. It can generate dialogue variations, suggest plot twists based on thousands of successful data points, or even help map a character's emotional journey. But the soul, empathy, and ability to translate human experience to the screen still reside with the artist. What changes is that they now have an intelligent 'co-pilot' that can handle more manual or analytical tasks, freeing them up for work that truly requires genius.

Production and Post-Production: Efficiency and New Possibilities

On film sets and in editing rooms, AI is already a reality. Automatic transcoding tools, intelligent subtitling, workflow optimization, and even the creation of more complex visual effects (VFX) with less manual effort are becoming standard. For independent productions with limited resources, AI can democratize access to techniques that were once exclusive to major studios.

A Practical Example: Optimizing Set Time

Imagine an independent production needing a simple visual effect, like simulating heavy rain in an urban scene. Previously, this might have required a full day of complex practical effects or weeks of high-end VFX rendering. With current AI tools, it's possible to generate this rain procedurally, integrated into the scene within days, and at a significantly lower cost. The director and cinematographer can then reallocate this time and budget to enhance lighting, acting, or the soundtrack – elements that AI, on its own, cannot replicate with the same depth.

Marketing and Distribution: Intelligent, Personalized Campaigns

On the marketing front, AI is transforming how we reach our audience. Major platforms are introducing new AI tools and agents for advertisers, enabling conversational campaigns and turning static images into dynamic videos. This means that a promotional piece for a film or series can be adapted in real-time based on user behavior, consumption history, and preferences.

The Power of Autonomous Agents

AI agents also come into play here. A creator can delegate tasks like monitoring a film's mentions on social media, identifying engaging interview snippets, and based on this, suggesting new promotional materials or even adjusting ad campaign targeting. This frees up the marketing professional to focus on macro strategies, while AI handles micro-optimization, which is essential in an increasingly saturated market.

The Challenge: Adapt and Retain the Human Touch

Despite all the innovations, the audiovisual market, both domestically and internationally, faces the challenge of integrating AI without losing its identity and human touch. Films exploring the relationship between technology and humanity, which are already generating buzz at awards ceremonies, remind us of the importance of not being dominated by technology, but of using it to enhance what makes us unique.

AI is not the future; it's the present. For us at Bendita Filmes, and for all audiovisual professionals and enthusiasts, the path forward is one of continuous learning, experimentation, and, above all, maintaining the passion for the art of storytelling, now with even more powerful tools at our disposal.
