The streaming landscape in Brazil is a dynamic hub of innovation and adaptation. Far from being just a content aggregator, streaming has become a central pillar in the strategies of telecom operators and internet providers. They are actively seeking to integrate video platforms with their connectivity services, aiming not only to retain customers in an increasingly competitive market but also to open new avenues for commercial expansion and monetization.

The Integrator Hub: A New Era for Claro TV+
A prime example of this transformation is Claro TV+, which, according to director Ricardo Falcão, reversed its subscriber decline by the end of 2025, establishing itself as a true integrator of streaming services. During the Brazil Streaming 2026 event, Falcão highlighted that the company achieved a positive net customer growth, driven by new content partnerships and an effective fight against piracy. Despite the resurgence of some pirate sites, Claro TV+ maintained positive growth in 2026, albeit at a more moderate pace. Events like the World Cup are expected to act as catalysts for the service, coupled with growing consumer awareness of the benefits of this integrated model.
A major focus for this year is theintegration of video services with 5G technology. Still in limited testing phases, this convergence is seen as a key growth driver for the Claro TV+ app. Offering the app to postpaid customers with flexible access periods reinforces a consumer-centric and convenience-driven approach.
Bundled Packages: Retention and New Business
The strategy of "bundling" services isn't exclusive to Claro. Executives from companies like Vero, Globo, Celetihub, and Claro discussed the technical, visibility, and negotiation challenges involved in creating these joint packages at Brazil Streaming 2026. Vero, for instance, expanded its portfolio by including services like Max, Paramount, and Pluto TV, complementing its partnership with Globo that began in 2021.
José Carlos Rocha, Vero's Executive Director of B2C Business, shared impressive data: packages combining broadband, mobile telephony, and access to platforms like Globoplay and HBO already represent 40% of sales in the first quarter of 2026. This multifaceted approach, which also includes traditional linear content via the Vero Vídeo app, demonstrates the effectiveness of creating more robust and attractive offers for consumers. Sustaining this operation relies on agile technical support, and Vero prides itself on a 98% First Contact Resolution (FCR) rate, supported by a network of 200 physical stores.
Regulation Under Debate: A Balance to Be Achieved
As the market advances with these integrations and innovations, discussions surrounding streaming regulation in Brazil remain prominent. Luizio Rocha, Executive Director of Strima, pointed to the federal government's inaction as an obstacle to advancing legislative projects in Congress. The association, representing major players like Disney+, Globoplay, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and BandPlay, has been pursuing a proactive stance to facilitate legislation.
The debate centers on choosing between PL 8889 (approved by the Chamber of Deputies) and PL 2331 (from the Senate). The difficulty in reconciling the demands of the independent production sector, which calls for national promotion, with the needs of streaming platforms seeking clear and equal parameters, has postponed progress on the matter. Rocha emphasizes that the delay stems not from the Legislature, but from a lack of concrete action by the Executive Branch.
FAST Channels: Continuous Growth and Maturation
In parallel, FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channels continue their growth trajectory in Brazil, though still in a maturation phase. Industry executives at Brazil Streaming 2026 highlighted that while not a new concept, the Brazilian FAST market is still in its "early stages" but experiencing intense annual growth, surpassing more traditional media models. "The platforms, channels, and the market as a whole are evolving rapidly," commented Leonardo de Pontes, Digital Product Strategy Manager at SBT, emphasizing the dynamic and fast-paced nature of this segment.
This expansion and evolution of the streaming market in Brazil, characterized by service convergence and the pursuit of more sustainable business models, reflects an increasingly dynamic and promising audiovisual ecosystem. Integration with emerging technologies and constant negotiation among various players are shaping the future of content distribution and consumption.
